Coffee Talk Webinar Series: Finding Your Starting Point in Scholarship
PA educators are increasingly expected to engage in scholarship while balancing teaching, mentoring, and contributing to program assessment and development. Whether it’s preparing a manuscript for publication or submitting a grant proposal, one of the most common challenges educators face is simply knowing where to begin.
To help address this need, PAEA has developed a Coffee Talk webinar series designed specifically for PA educators who are new to, or uncertain about, these scholarly pursuits. The series will demystify the process of getting started, whether you’re considering your first grant application or thinking about writing for the Journal of PA Education (JPAE), even if you don’t see yourself as a traditional researcher.
Each session will focus on practical guidance, foundational skills, and realistic entry points for busy educators, aiming to reduce the intimidation factor and empower participants to take their first steps toward scholarly productivity.
Topics will include:
- Identifying feasible starting points for research and writing
- Navigating the grant submission process with confidence
- Understanding the expectations for JPAE submissions
- Developing a mindset for sustainable scholarly engagement
By blending insights on both grant writing and manuscript preparation, this series offers a unique opportunity for PA educators to build confidence and competence in their scholarly roles.
