Governance at PAEA
The PA Education Association (PAEA) is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors elected by member programs, with each program holding one vote. The Chief Executive Officer serves as an ex officio member. The Board holds fiduciary responsibility for all Association affairs and provides strategic oversight for PAEA’s activities.

Strengthening Leadership: Inside PAEA's New Nominating Process
Annual Membership Meeting & Member Voting
As a member-led organization, your voice and leadership are at the heart of everything we do – and that’s especially true during our annual meeting.
The PAEA Annual Membership Meeting is held each year to conduct official Association business, such as policy discussions. To increase accessibility, the meeting is now held separately from the Education Forum and conducted virtually. To view the most recent meeting materials, please visit the 2025 Annual Membership Meeting event page.
New for 2025: To make participation more accessible, some votes – such as board elections and select bylaws changes – took place before the Annual Membership Meeting through an asynchronous online process. This ensures more members can engage meaningfully, even if they are unable to attend the meeting live.
