This is the sixth session of our Scholarship Coffee Talk webinar series. Many recent doctoral graduates have worked diligently on their dissertations and are eager to publish their work. However, determining where and how to start the publication process can be a challenge. This session will walk participants through a real example of a dissertation and demonstrate how it can be adapted into a manuscript suitable for publication.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify key differences between a dissertation and a publishable manuscript
  • Understand the processes for identifying which portions of a dissertation are suitable for manuscript submission
  • Recognize how to align their work with appropriate publication outlets

This Coffee Talk webinar series on scholarship will introduce members to grant and manuscript submissions in small, manageable segments, designed to help you take the first steps in building your scholarly portfolio. Each session will be informal and interactive, providing a welcoming space for participants to ask questions and engage in discussion.

Speaker: Mary L. Warner, DBH, PA-C, Chair & Associate Professor, Department of PA Studies, The George Washington University
