Webinar: Implementing IPE to Serve the Underserved

Join the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) on Thursday, September 20, at 2:00 p.m. ET for a free webinar on how to foster and support interprofessional collaborative practices to serve underserved populations and contribute to the reduction of health disparities.

The webinar will be led by Kim E. Fenesy, DMD, vice dean of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Dental Medicine; and James R. Kilgore, PhD, PA-C, assistant professor in the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences, School of Health Professions, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Specifically, the webinar will cover:

  • Approaches used at Rutgers and University of Alabama at Birmingham to transform health disparities through interprofessional education, research, and practice
  • Strategies and models used to integrate interprofessional clinical learning experiences to increase students’ skills in providing community-based primary care
  • Lessons learned in implementing interprofessional health promotion programs for underserved populations
