Webinar: Don Pedersen Research Grant
PAEA is now accepting applications for the 2019 Don Pederson Research Grant. This is an ideal opportunity for early-career PA faculty to receive up to $7,000 to fund a research project on PA education and/or PA workforce issues.
To find out more about this grant, join our interactive webinar on Friday, May 3, at 12:00 p.m. ET as we present a detailed overview of both the grant opportunity and the application process. Rick Dehn, MPA, PA-C, chair of the Research Mission Advancement Commission (RMAC) and Trent Honda, PhD, MMS, PA-C, chair of the Grants & Scholarship Review Committee, will lead a discussion covering:
- Relevant research topics
- Proposal formatting
- Evaluation criteria
- Preferences and additional points awarded
- Common pitfalls
- Effective proposal budgets
Two previous Don Pedersen Research Grant recipients will also be present to share their research outcomes and tips for submitting a successful proposal: Elana Min, PhD, PA-C, and Sheena Brown, PhD, MSCR. PAEA Research staff will join during the presenters’ Q&A to discuss eligibility and submission guidelines.
If you are interested in applying, please register for the webinar. Or, you can join us live at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3. Before joining, please allow a few minutes to install the required GoToWebinar software.
If you would like some guidance on your proposal from an expert, we can connect you with a member of the PAEA RMAC or the Grants and Scholarships Review Committee. Just email us at research@PAEAonline.org using “Don Pedersen Consultation” in the subject line.
Also, again this year at the Education Forum, we will be offering the “Research and Publishing Made Easier” sessions, where you can receive one-on-one advice from a senior researcher about your proposal or any other research project you might be considering or working on.
The call for proposals webpage will be updated on May 1 with more details about how to apply. The deadline for submissions is October 30.
If you have any other questions, please email us at research@PAEAonline.org or call (703) 671-8540.
