PAEA Assessment: What You Need to Know about the New Master License Agreement

On August 2, PAEA will launch our next-generation exam platform. The PAEA Assessment Team is committed to walking alongside our members throughout this transition, offering guidance and support. This includes keeping our members up to date on key action items, dates, and deadlines.

PAEA recently completed a comprehensive risk assessment. As a result of that process, PAEA is implementing a new program-level agreement to use its assessments. That means, to access the new platform, all PAEA Assessment user programs must sign the new Master License Agreement (MLA) by July 29, 2022. We understand that signing a new agreement requires a period of review and discussion. We will send the new MLA along with signature instructions to program directors soon; in the meantime, access an advanced copy for your download and review at the link below.

The new MLA includes enhanced requirements for the protection of student personal data and PAEA assessment exam content, among other features that serve to ensure a fair and secure system for all users.

Features of the agreement include, but are not limited to:

  • Explanation of requirements for member program and student accounts
  • Robust confidentiality, data protection, and privacy provisions for the protection of student data and assessment content
  • A provision to ensure PAEA’s ability to conduct an audit if there is any reason to question the integrity of a program’s assessment administration or privacy practices
  • Clarity around PAEA’s ownership of assessments and related assessment data
