IPEC Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice

The Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) has launched a new webinar series and will host their inaugural session on March 9 at 2:00 p.m. ET. This first installment will focus on the development of IPEC core competencies since 2011, including efforts to “design a curriculum that prepares health and other professions’ students for interprofessional collaborative practice.”

Following the webinar, attendees should be able to:

  • Identify the IPEC core competencies for preparing students to work in interprofessional collaborative practice
  • Explain the intent, process, and purpose for the 2011 development and 2016 revision of the IPEC competencies
  • Discuss opportunities to use the IPEC core competencies to advance interprofessional education

Speakers are Madeline H. Schmitt, PhD, RN, RNAP, University of Rochester, and Ruth Gaare Bernheim, JD, MPH, University of Virginia.
