Celebrating PA Week

Happy PA Week! We are endlessly inspired by the character, service, passion, and purpose you bring to your work – and we’re not alone. This week, the nation will celebrate the many ways PAs and their educators are building a more excellent and inclusive environment in which to work and receive care. Thank you for everything you do to shape the future of the PA profession.

A Message from PAEA CEO Sara Fletcher

“PAs hold a special place in my heart – for many reasons. For starters, it was a PA who helped me during my pregnancy with my youngest son. Her care and compassion were unparalleled. As a patient, she gave me a voice and helped others on the health care team understand my needs and concerns. My primary care clinician is also a PA who consistently goes above and beyond to care for her patients.

When I think about the PAs who have been part of my health care journey, I am reminded of the PA educators who work tirelessly to prepare students to become the kind of clinicians that patients want and need. PA educators deserve credit for the patient-centered care PAs provide. They have instilled the importance of empathetic listening and valuing the patient’s perspective, and it shows.

As PA Week begins, I want to thank all PA educators for preparing the next generation of PAs to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The impact of your work is tremendous and far-reaching. The students you train deliver care to their patients in the same caring and compassionate way they were taught.”
