Version 6 of End of Rotation Exams Coming Soon

On Wednesday, July 11, the first administrations of Version 6 of PAEA’s End of Rotation™ exams will take place. The system will be down the evening of July 10 for the transition.

This version will contain a few updates, but no topics will be added or distributions changed. Updates for Version 6 include:

  • Scale scores. Thank you to the 175 of you who participated in our webinars on May 16 and June 5. We are proud that approximately 120 programs were represented. More education resources will be coming out soon for those of you who were not able to participate. Over the coming weeks, we will be featuring a series of frequently asked questions and tips in the Networker, as well as releasing a module of our webinar content. Stay tuned for more information and tools to help you with the enhancement.
  • 2017 hypertension guidelines. We have updated hypertension questions according to the 2017 guidelines jointly published by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association. For more information, visit ACC’s High Blood Pressure Guideline Hub.
  • Terminology. We have updated benign prostatic hypertrophy to the more current terminology, “benign prostatic hyperplasia.” This topic appears on the Family Medicine and Internal Medicine exams. We will also update this on PACKRATTM with the release of version 23 in November. (Note: This is the only content change this year.)
  • New topic list format. Our new topic lists are easier to read and provide a clear understanding of where the topics fit.

Any End of Rotation exam administered on or after July 11, 2018, will be Version 6, regardless of when you purchased the exams. If you would like to administer any Version 5 End of Rotation exams, please do so on or before July 10, as Version 5 forms will no longer be available once Version 6 forms have been released.

We’re excited to offer this next version of End of Rotation exams, and we appreciate your dedication both to these exams and to PAEA. Together, we’re continuing to strengthen PA education.
