Please Welcome the 2018–2019 AAPA-PAEA Research Fellows
Congratulations to Bettie Coplan, MPAS, PA-C, of Northern Arizona University, Morgan Nowak, MS, PA-C, of Shenandoah University, and Ryan White, MS, MPH, PA-C, of Rutgers University, who will begin their year-long fellowship on November 1.
This year’s fellows will be formally welcomed during the AAPA-PAEA Research Fellows Presentation at the Education Forum in Anaheim. In addition to welcoming the new fellows, the inaugural cohort — Christy Hanson, MPAS, PA-C; Virginia Valentin, DrPH, PA-C; and Alicia Quella, PhD, PA-C — will present the results of their research conducted during their fellowship year. The session will take place from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 27.
The AAPA-PAEA Research Fellowship provides 20 percent of the recipient’s salary (up to $25,000) to each fellow’s institution to secure protected release time dedicated to research with a focus on the PA profession and PA education. The Fellowship has two overarching goals: to build PA faculty research capacity and develop future PA leaders in health workforce and education research. As part of the Fellowship, the cohort will travel to Washington, DC, to meet with influential health workforce and education researchers and learn about their organizations.
PAEA and AAPA extend warm congratulations to this year’s fellows.
