Pi Alpha Is Moving to the PAEA Member Community This July
Starting in July, Pi Alpha, the national honor society for Physician Assistant (PA) students, faculty, and alumni, will officially move its online presence into the PAEA Member Community. This transition marks an exciting step forward in streamlining and strengthening support for Pi Alpha chapters and nominees.
A More Seamless and Intuitive Experience

Previously, nominating Pi Alpha inductees required navigating a separate entry form and uploading Excel spreadsheets, a cumbersome process that was disconnected from the rest of the PAEA member experience. With the move into the Member Community, Program Directors and Account Managers at a voting member program with an active Pi Alpha chapter can complete nominations and orders through a familiar platform.
This integrated approach reduces the number of systems faculty need to access, simplifies the nomination process, and improves visibility into nominee and order data, offering programs a more intuitive and efficient experience from start to finish.
This move also reflects PAEA’s ongoing commitment to enhance the value of the Member Community. Bringing Pi Alpha into this centralized space moves the Member Community closer to our ideal “one-stop shop” for program leaders and faculty.
Updated Membership Manual and Clearer Program Policies
Alongside this platform transition, the policies and procedures for Pi Alpha have been thoroughly reviewed and updated. Now renamed the Membership Manual of Pi Alpha, this document provides clear, accurate, and transparent guidance for program administrators. These updates support effective local chapter management and reflect modern best practices, offering a stronger foundation for Pi Alpha’s continued growth and impact.
Updated Pricing Reflects Administrative Costs
Although not directly related to the platform move, PAEA is also adjusting pricing to reflect the rising costs of administration and fulfillment. This is the first fee increase in many years. Beginning this summer:
- The chapter application fee will increase from $200 to $225
- The inductee nomination fee will increase from $25 to $35
These updates will help ensure the continued quality and sustainability of the Pi Alpha program.
By moving Pi Alpha into the Member Community, PAEA is making it easier than ever for faculty and programs to recognize excellence and promote leadership among future PAs. We appreciate your support during this transition and look forward to strengthening the Pi Alpha experience for everyone involved.
