Opportunities for Graduating PA Students Through HRSA
Faculty – please pass this information along to graduating students!
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) offers two wonderful opportunities for graduating PA students to consider: virtual job fairs and loan repayment programs.
Virtual Job Fairs
The job fairs are designed to “connect health care sites with job-seeking primary care trainees and practicing clinicians,” and potentially hundreds of positions are open to new PAs, among many other health professions, without leaving their computer screens.
The next Virtual Job Fair is March 4 from 6:45–10:15 p.m. ET. Job seekers should register in advance through the HRSA portal so that potential employers can contact them. Virtual fairs will also be held May 20, August 5, October 7, and November 18.
Loan Repayment Programs
HRSA’s National Health Service Corps (NHSC) offers three different programs for clinicians to pay off their student loans in exchange for two years’ service at an NHSC-approved site in a health professions shortage area. PAs are eligible for all three of these programs, which include full-time and half-time options:
- NHSC Loan Repayment Program
- NHSC Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Workforce Loan Repayment Program
- NHSC Rural Community Loan Repayment Program
Application for these programs is now easier than ever, through a CASPA-style “One Application, Three Programs” system.
The application window closes on April 23 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
