Now Accepting 2020 PAEA Student Fellowship Applications
Do you have students interested in becoming a PA educator? Or maybe some of your students are passionate about policy and advocacy. If so, encourage them to apply for this year’s Future Educator Fellowship or Student Health Policy Fellowship. Interested students have until 11:59 p.m. ET on July 13 to submit their application materials for one or both of the fellowships.
STUDENT HEALTH POLICY FELLOWSHIP – September 6–9
PAEA’s Student Health Policy Fellowship is designed to cultivate the skills necessary for students to become effective policy advocates for PA education and the PA profession. During an immersive three-day workshop held in Washington, DC, students learn about key policy issues facing PA education from national experts, hone their advocacy skills through the implementation of best practices, and meet with their elected representatives and legislative staff on Capitol Hill. Over the course of the following year, fellows then implement their newly acquired skills through the planning and execution of a community-based advocacy project under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
FUTURE EDUCATOR FELLOWSHIP – October 21–23
This fellowship is designed for PA students interested in becoming future PA educators. By focusing on professional development, leadership, and mentorship, the fellowship provides students with a better understanding of medical education and academic careers. In addition, as part of the fellowship, students are expected to attend an intensive two-day student track during the Education Forum in Austin this fall and complete projects under the mentorship of PA faculty.
Women, minorities, and students with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply for one or both fellowship opportunities.
