NHGRI Wants to Hear from You

The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is seeking responses to a survey that evaluates primary issues in genetics and genomics education.

NHGRI is interested in exploring how to best support integrating genomics into practice for health care providers. As the front line of care, PAs play a central role in seeing that genetic and genomic discoveries lead to disease prevention and population health improvements. The survey will evaluate your knowledge and identify learning needs and preferred methods of genomics education. Understanding these items will help the NHGRI determine resource and training priorities.

All data received will be reviewed at a September meeting to be held at NIH in late September. This meeting will bring together leading health care practitioners, clinical educators, and health care licensing and accrediting professionals to consider recommendations regarding overall genomics education needs and discuss existing barriers.

To take the survey via Survey Monkey, please click here. The deadline to participate is Saturday, September 15.
