Interested in Serving on the Veterans Affairs Academic Affiliations Council?
PAEA is soliciting candidates who wish to be nominated to serve on the Department of Veterans Affairs National Academic Affiliations Council (NAAC).
The VA’s NAAC, an advisory committee to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and the Undersecretary for Health, is charged with identifying opportunities for enhancing the traditional partnership between the VA and health professions education institutions.
Three new members from the health professions community will be appointed to the council in October 2018 for a two-year term of service. Members of the NAAC will be expected to meet up to four times annually. PAEA plans to submit letters of nomination to the VA in spring 2018.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest in influencing VA Academic Affiliations policy
- Prior military service/history of working with, or practicing in, the VA system
- Prior experience as a program director and/or clinical coordinator
- Significant PA education leadership experience
