Former IOM Hiring Board Directors
The Health and Medicine Division (HMD) of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine is accepting applications for two open board director positions — one on the Board on Global Health and one on the Board on the Health of Select Populations.
HMD (formerly known as the Institute of Medicine, or IOM) aims to help people make evidence-based health decisions. The Board on Global Health focuses on international health policy and health in developing countries, while the Board on the Health of Select Populations focuses on groups of people with similar characteristics (e.g. veterans or the LGBT community).
For both positions, applicants should have 10 years’ relevant experience including direct supervision responsibilities. Board directors are tasked with a variety of roles, including budget management, staff mentorship, and program/project development.
Both of these positions are a great opportunity for seasoned PAs or PA educators interested in making the move to health policy, with an added bonus of bringing a voice for PA capabilities to the forefront of the organization.
