Connect with Colleagues and PAEA Research Staff During Office Hours
Do you remember going to office hours to meet with faculty members when you had questions related to class? We are taking a similar approach in launching the PAEA “Research Office Hours” program. It is a more informal setting to connect with established researchers and understand what PAEA data and resources are available. In addition, there is time to ask your own specific questions. The initial pilot program will be hosted at 1 p.m. ET on June 15, 2021. During this free virtual webinar, we will share advice and discuss a wide range of research offerings, such as reports, data, and grant opportunities with PAEA members.
The session will start with a short panel discussion about the Don Pedersen Research Grant, which is currently accepting applications until 11:59 p.m. ET on October 31, 2021. Panelists will provide participants with recommendations on how to write a competitive grant application and answer questions. After the panel, PAEA staff will provide an overview of PAEA surveys and reports. Following the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to ask any other research questions. In addition, we are applying for CME credits, however, they are not yet approved for the upcoming session. We hope to provide an update about CME credits soon.
We envision that this will be a flexible model that will give members dedicated face time with PAEA Research staff and promote collaboration and member engagement.
Ultimately, the goal is to support members in their research endeavors. We hope that attendees walk away with greater research skills and knowledge, including the ability to:
- Understand PAEA data collection and reports and make connections to their research.
- Understand the Don Pedersen Research Grant.
- Network with other PA researchers.
