2018 PA Foundation Scholarship Cycle Now Open
The PA Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2018 student scholarship cycle. To enhance the impact of this year’s program, the Foundation Board of Trustees voted to allocate additional funding in the amount of $20,000 to the 2018 cycle. This enabled the Foundation to award 18 additional scholarships this year, bringing the total number of available scholarships to 35.
PA Foundation scholarships are awarded to PA students who demonstrate a passion for the PA profession and health care–related community service as well as a record of high academic performance. Applicants must be student members of AAPA, attend an ARC-PA–accredited PA program, be in good academic standing, and have successfully completed at least one term of PA studies.
This group of scholarships also includes the Timi Agar Barwick Scholarship for Humanism in Medicine, established in 2016 by the PAEA Board of Directors to honor Barwick’s 25 years of service to the organization. This scholarship will be awarded to underrepresented minority PA students and/or those who are economically and/or educationally disadvantaged, and who exemplify a benevolent and compassionate approach to patient care.
Additional scholarship-specific eligibility criteria and application instructions are provided on the PA Foundation website. Applications will be accepted online through May 31.
