| 7/24/26 | Secure Browser | Prohibited applications restarting during exams and exiting students from the exam, causing disruption PC -GamingServices.exe -LockScreen.exe Mac -screensharingd -ScreensharingAge | These are all legitimate native programs and processes that are capable of screen recording. The PC processes can be shut down before each exam by going to the task manager (CTRL+ALT+Delete) and selecting End Process. The Mac processes are controlled by Remote Management and will close by toggling this off in System Preferences. |
| 6/1/26 | Secure Browser | When loading a new question, most commonly when returning from a break, questions are not loading properly and navigation buttons may be missing | The team is working with our vendor to collection information to aid in the investigation. Please take a photo of the student’s screen before engaging in troubleshooting and send to exams@PAEAonline.org, attn: Emily Yunker. For in-progress exams, attempt to navigate back using the Question Review pane then forward to allow the question to re-load. Next, try to Pause the student’s exam. If that doesn’t work, they can exit Secure Browser using keyboard shortcuts and attempt to re-launch the exam. Contact PAEA if you suspect that time has been lost and we can modify the exam. |
