Sign Up for the PLCs — and Tell Us How to Change PA Education

If you haven’t yet signed up for PAEA’s new Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), please consider doing so today. Then join the conversations that are getting under way — on topics like admissions, entrustable professional activities, and how simulation can help ease the strain on clinical sites. The PAEA Presidents Commission in particular is looking for your input on a number of related questions to help inform its work on innovation and transformation in PA education.

The goal of the Presidents Commission is to stimulate dialogue among several different groups of members and crowdsource innovations in PA education that can then be shared with all programs. We are particularly interested in innovative ways to address the clinical site crisis and facilitate the transition to 21st century learning. You will find these questions and conversations in several different PLCs. Please lend your voice and insights where you can!

Joining a PLC takes only a minute. Follow these simple steps:

  • Log in to your PAEA Learning account, or if you don’t have one yet, request one here (then log in).
  • Click on “Professional Learning Communities” on the top menu bar.
  • Scroll down the list of available PLCs, click on any that interest you, and click “Join Group.” You may join as many PLCs as you like.
  • If you need more information, check out the PLC page on the PAEA Learning site.

PAEA’s email-based listservs became a thing of the past on June 19. The new PLCs offer an enhanced way to exchange ideas, seek solutions, and engage in conversations with your fellow PA educators. We look forward to seeing you online!
