Got Travel? We’ve Got Funds
In July 2014, PAEA began awarding up to five $2,000 grants annually to help PA educators defray the travel, hotel, conference, and food costs associated with presenting a poster or presentation at a scientific conference.
To date, two travel support scholarships have been awarded. The first went to Jami Smith, MPA, MEd, PA-C, from Rutgers’ PA program. She used the funds to attend the International Meeting for Simulation in Healthcare where she was part of a team that presented on the Plus Delta Discuss Method of debriefing.
The second scholarship was given to Gerald Kayingo, PhD, MMSc, PA-C, an educator at the University of California, Davis PA program. He attended the AAMC Integrating Quality Meeting to present a poster on Quality Improvement Education for PA students.
