Remediation in Health Sciences Education Seminar Series

The International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) is hosting a five-session web seminar series each Thursday in March to highlight various remediation topics.
According to IAMSE, the goal of remediation is to “correct the course of students who have gone astray in their journey to become a health professional” — an increasingly complex challenge. Topics to be covered over the course of the series include approaches to remediation, entrustable professional activities, licensing exams, and more.
Presenters include experts from various fields of health sciences education, including Pat Kenney-Moore, EdD, PA-C, associate professor, associate director, and academic coordinator at the Oregon Health & Science University PA program. Also presenting is Jeanette Guerrasio, MD, associate professor of internal medicine and director of remediation at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, who has presented at PAEA’s Pando™ workshop on remediation.

- March 23: Sharing Assessment Information: Why, How, and What to Consider (Presenter: Lynn Cleary)
- March 30: Remediation of Gaps in Clinical Skills — One Size Fits One (Presenters: Cate Nicholas, Camilla Curren)
