Ready to Advance Rural Primary Care?
PAEA will be well represented at Advancing Rural Primary Care II, a national conference on the effective utilization of PAs, to be held March 23–24 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Join other PAs, physicians, administrators, policy makers, researchers, educators, and students to exchange strategies in sustaining primary care in rural and underserved communities through the use of PAs. The conference will focus on best practice models of team-based care, health care delivery, use of technology, education, recruitment, and retention.
- Come hear PAEA’s President Bill Kohlhepp, DHSc, PA-C, discuss how far the PA profession has come and where we are headed.
- PAEA’s Chief Advocacy and Research Officer Dave Keahey, MSPH, PA-C, will speak about his stint as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellow and what he learned about advocacy.
“This event promises to bring together the health care team to explore policies and practices that bring the most effective health care to patients in our rural communities,” reports conference director, Michael Huckabee, PhD, PA-C, director of the Division of PA Education at University of Nebraska Medical Center. “The caliber of speakers and highly relevant topics make this a one-of-a-kind conference on advancing rural primary care.”
Additional presenters include Rod Hooker, PhD, MBA, PA, health care consultant, discussing the “Clinical Productivity and Economics of Physician Assistant Employment,” and Ann Davis, MS, PA-C, VP for constituent organization outreach and advocacy for AAPA, speaking about how “Improving Physician Assistant State Laws Help Rural Health the Most.”
