Pay for School, Secure a Job, Serve Your Country

The U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) is seeking health care professions students to be commissioned officers following graduation — and will pay for the remaining education of those selected.

USPHS’ Senior Commissioned Officer Student Training and Extern Program (SRCOSTEP) is available to full-time students headed into their final year of study or training. Selected students will receive the pay and benefits of an active duty officer for up to 12 months while they finish school. Among the benefits of this program are a housing allowance, free health care, and the ability to extend your work obligation into a career as a USPHS commissioned officer.

After graduation, students will work for USPHS for a term that is double the length of time covered by the scholarship. (For example, if one year of schooling is covered, a student will be required to work for two years.)
