PAEA Signs Letter Questioning Executive Order on Immigration
PAEA has joined a wide-ranging coalition of health care groups and associations raising concerns about the president’s January 27 executive order denying admission to the United States of nationals of seven countries in the Middle East and North Africa. While the immediate impact of the order on PA program students and faculty is likely minimal, the impact on the broader health care community could be significant. The letter, initiated by the Association of American Medical Colleges, expresses concern that the executive order will “disrupt patient care, health education, and medical research.”
Through our Government Relations staff and others, we will continue to monitor actions of the new administration and will speak out clearly against those that we consider to violate the Association’s mission and core values.
