PAEA Expands Grantwriting Assistance Through New Letters of Support Offering
As a component of PAEA’s expanding efforts to support PA programs in accessing federal funding opportunities, the Government Relations team is announcing a new offering to assist association members. Federal funding opportunities often require applicants to submit letters of support from partners or external stakeholders for proposed projects. To help strengthen member applications, PAEA Government Relations staff will now assist programs by drafting letters of support for qualified applications. Please note that these are general letters of support, not grant partnership letters of support.
Programs interested in receiving a general letter of support from the Association must submit a letter of intent describing the objectives of their grant application, which will be reviewed by volunteer members of the Government Relations Steering Committee in a non-competitive process to ensure feasibility of the proposal. Requests will be evaluated based upon the following criteria:
- Evidence of institutional support;
- Alignment between funding opportunity and program implementation plan; and
- Feasibility of identified goals and objectives
The Association will only write letters of support for programs that have submitted a request and which have been approved by Government Relations Steering Committee volunteers. Any requests for a letter of support must be submitted no later than six weeks in advance of the date the letter is needed.
Members with questions and those interested in receiving a general letter of support from PAEA for their grant applications are invited to contact Tyler Smith at tsmith@PAEAonline.org.
