Program Name & Location: Marietta College Physician Assistant Program in Marietta, Ohio
Program mission, vision & values: The Mission of the Marietta College Physician Assistant Program is to educate future physician assistants to provide quality healthcare (physical, social, and behavioral) to meet the needs of patients in Ohio and throughout the Appalachian region. The program accomplishes this by educating individuals who have the academic, clinical and interpersonal proficiencies necessary to practice as physician assistants.
What year did your program welcome its first class of students: 2002
Key milestones in your program’s history:
- First cohort graduated in 2004.
- Kenneth F. Ferrell from the Duke University Class of 1967 was the Key Note Speaker for the Class of 2019 for the White Coat Ceremony.
- Founding Program Director Gloria Stewart endowed scholarship was created when she retired in 2012 and has been awarded annually since 2018.
- Awarded continued ARC accreditation in March 2018 through 2028.
How many students have graduated to date: 565 counting the Class of 2022 that will graduate in July of 2022
