Nominations for HRSA’s National Advisory Committee on Rural Health and Human Services
The Health Resources and Services Administration is now accepting nominations for its National Advisory Committee on Rural Health and Human Services. Established in 1987, this advisory committee is responsible for providing recommendations on rural health issues, including workforce development and access to care, to the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Committee members are expected to participate in several meetings each year and contribute to the development of committee reports, letters, and publications.
Members interested in being nominated by PAEA to serve on this committee are invited to submit application packages to be reviewed by the Association’s Government Relations Steering Committee. Applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Demonstrated expertise in rural health and health policy
- Demonstrated experience facilitating clinical training experiences for PA students in rural communities
- Track record of research publications
- Previous national or state-level volunteer service
- Track record of leadership in PA education
Please note: the federal advisory committee nomination and consideration process can be extensive, and faculty who advance in the process should expect to complete a thorough ethics and conflict of interest evaluation.
Interested members are invited to submit a biosketch, CV, and letter of interest to Tyler Smith at tsmith@paeaonline.org by February 1, 2022.
