New Faces at PAEA

Geoff Waller, MA | IT Support Specialist

Geoff officially joined the PAEA team over the summer as our IT support specialist, helping to solve problems and implement a variety of IT projects and upgrades. He earned a double bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Texas Tech University, followed by a master’s degree in international relations from the University of San Diego. Geoff’s studies mainly focused on American foreign policy, European security, and Islamic-European relations, and allowed him the opportunity to travel to a variety of destinations including Morocco, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, and Turkey and to events including a NATO conference in The Hague.

In his spare time, Geoff enjoys tabletop gaming — a hobby that provides an outlet for his creativity and allows him to write stories and create worlds that he then gets to bring to life with friends — and video gaming, both on Playstation and his computer, which he built himself. He also enjoys watching and attending sporting events, specifically soccer and college football, trying out new restaurants in DC, and traveling to experience other cultures.

Julien Williams | Manager, Assessment Development

Julien joined the PAEA team just before the Education Forum in October. In his new role as our assessment development manager, Julien will handle quality improvement, education, and marketing for the PAEA suite of exams. He will also play a key role in the customer service sphere. His professional experience includes marketing, communications, membership, and operations at RESNA (an assistive technology association) and NASW (a social worker association).

Julien is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he worked as a research assistant on electoral politics — specifically, polling analysis and political economy in the middle east and north Africa. Outside of the office, he enjoys reading books on American history, riding his bicycle around the DC area, and spending time with family.

Christine Vucinich, MA | Instructional Specialist
Christine also joined the PAEA team just before the Forum as an instructional specialist on the PAEA Learning team. She will be exploring how we can best complement our in-person events with digital tools and looking for ways to support our members’ use of these services. She is also helping to support PAEA’s work on the PRAC-ED-PA Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Grant project.

Prior to joining PAEA, Christine spent the past 20 years in higher education working in both Penn State’s and Duke’s central IT departments specializing in training and professional development. A native of western Pennsylvania, Christine has a bachelor’s degree in communications–interactive media design and public relations from Seton Hill College and a master’s degree in adult education and communications technology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In her free time, she enjoys going on sightseeing adventures with her husband (most recently in England), sharing reviews on TripAdvisor, digital photography, and helping others in the community.
