Moves & Milestones: December 2016

Maha B. Lund, DHSc, PA-C, PA program director at Emory University School of Medicine, has been selected in a very competitive process to attend the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Mid-Career Women Faculty Professional Development Seminar. The seminar is an annual event designed to help strengthen academic medicine leadership skills for women physicians and others holding medical school appointments at the associate professor level. Lund is one of the few PAs to have been selected for the seminar.

Athena Abdullah, JD, PAEA director of government relations, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Coalition for Health Funding, “the oldest and largest nonprofit alliance working to preserve and strengthen public health investments in the best interest of all Americans.” Athena’s election ensures that health professions and health professions education will be represented on the Board for the first time since PAEA became a member in 2009. In her new role, Athena will help highlight important health funding issues in the 115th Congress and with the new administration.
