Moderators Needed for 2018 PAEA Education Forum
Update, 8/21/18: Thank you for your interest! The call for moderators is now closed due to a high number of applications.
Have you ever wondered what it’s like behind the scenes at the Education Forum? Are you interested in serving PAEA by helping at the Forum? Then sign up to be a session moderator!
Each year, PAEA enlists the help of several PA educators to serve as moderators for education sessions at the Forum. These moderators function as the eyes and ears of PAEA and the Education Programming Steering Committee, ensuring that sessions run smoothly to foster a productive learning environment for their peers. This year, we have 15 moderator positions available.
As a moderator, you will observe and verify that learning objectives were met and the format was a good fit for the session. You will also count the number of people at the beginning and end of the session and note if there were any major issues that came up. Moderators have the honor of introducing the session at the beginning, setting the ground rules for the presenter(s) and attendees, and encouraging people to complete the session evaluation. In essence, moderators help keep the entire Forum moving along smoothly.
If you would like to be a part of this experience at this year’s Forum, apply by September 7. However, please note that this is a first-come, first-served opportunity, so the first 15 people to apply will be our 2018 moderators.
The Forum team will reach out to those interested with more information. If you have questions, please direct them to Forum@PAEAonline.org.
