Membership Has Its Privileges: Accessing the Journal Will Be a Virtual Snap
We know that you look forward to the arrival of each issue of the Journal of Physician Assistant Education (JPAE), PAEA’s scholarly peer-reviewed journal. The good news is that now you won’t have to wait for it to land on your desk — and accessing and categorizing full-text journal articles for research will be easier than ever.
The first step in taking you to this next level of JPAE will come later this week in the form of an email from our publishing partner, LWW Journals, part of Wolters Kluwer.
As you most likely have seen or heard, with the release of the March issue, JPAE is now published on behalf of PAEA by Wolters Kluwer, a leading international publisher of professional health information, responsible for the publication of nearly 300 periodicals.
One exciting aspect of this partnership is that the journal will have a state-of-the-art website, featuring a cacophony of bells and whistles. JPAE’s new site will allow you to tailor the collection of information to your own personal preferences and needs as well as keep track of your visits. The ability to easily search and organize issues or articles for the purpose of research or future reference, or simply for personal interest, will be at your fingertips — literally. No more leafing through back issues or searching for one article at a time in order to find what you need.
“Members will experience a robust, feature-rich journal website at jpae.pub,” said Wolters Kluwer Senior Publisher Natalie McGroarty. “The new website makes it possible for users to enjoy a more personalized online experience where they can quickly locate specific information.”
Your Journal, Your Way
The email from Wolters Kluwer will alert you that your online access to the new website has been activated and will provide you with a username and password for the new platform.
Once you register for your JPAE online subscription, you will be able to set up personal article collections as well as save your searches. Some of the impressive features available to you will include:
- Access to the full archive of all JPAE issues ever published
- RSS feeds to “Most Popular Articles” and the latest Table of Contents
- ePUB downloads to access articles on your e-reader device
- Ability to download article images to PowerPoint for use in presentations with just a couple of clicks
- Ability to group articles by topic or author
- Have the e-Table of Contents delivered to your inbox
“Some future enhancements that members can look forward to include the integration of Google Scholar in searches and design improvements across mobile devices,” said McGroarty.
