Join Pi Alpha and Honor Your Outstanding PAs

Don’t have a Pi Alpha chapter at your program? Then why not start one? We invite your program to participate in the Pi Alpha National Honor Society, sponsored by PAEA.

Pi Alpha, established in 2004, is the first honor society developed specifically for the promotion and recognition of both PA students and graduates. The national society undertakes activities to recognize academic excellence and encourage the intellectual lives of its members. Currently, there are more than 140 chapters at PA programs across the United States and more than 6,000 members — all of whom are encouraged to uphold a high standard of character and conduct.

Membership signifies the inductee’s significant academic achievement and honors them for their leadership, research, community/professional service, and other related activities. Chapters may nominate students, alumni, and faculty based on those criteria. An honorary membership is also available to recognize those who have demonstrated a commitment to the PA profession but do not fit the student, alumni, or faculty criteria.

Creating a Pi Alpha chapter at your program is easy; the first step is to complete the Pi Alpha Chapter Application. Once completed, submit the form along with a one-time $200 charter fee. After your application is processed, a chapter number will be assigned to your program, and you will be eligible to submit nominations for induction into Pi Alpha for $25 per inductee.

Membership nomination forms should be submitted to PAEA one month prior to when materials will be distributed. Eligibility requirements and nomination forms are available online.
