PA Educators Recognized by Apple
Two PA educators have been selected as Apple Distinguished Educators (ADE): Elias Villarreal, Jr., MPAS, PA-C, clinical associate professor in The University of Texas – Pan American PA department and chair of PAEA’s Awards Committee, and Sabba Quidwai, MA, director of Innovative Education for the Keck School of Medicine at USC, who will be a regular contributor to a column on technology in education for PAEA. The international distinction recognizes educators for using Apple technology in innovative ways.
ADEs advise Apple on integrating technology into learning environments and share their expertise with other educators and policy makers. They also author original content about their work, advocate the use of Apple products that help engage students in new ways, and present at education events.
Applications came from all continents and all types of educational institutions and settings. Out of thousands of applicants, Apple selected 646 new ADEs. There are now more than 2,000 ADEs worldwide.
Every year these educators gather at ADE institutes and education events around the world and online to collaborate on solutions to the global education challenges of today and tomorrow. This summer, Villarreal will attend one such event in Miami.
