S. 2524 – Opioid Crisis Response Act of 2018

Summary: On April 18, 2018, PAEA and 32 other organizations submitted a joint letter to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions requesting that the Opioid Crisis Response Act be modified to absorb the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Workforce Loan Repayment Act of 2018 (S. 2524).
By adopting the provisions of the SUD Workforce Loan Repayment Act, the Opioid Crisis Response Act would expand the arsenal of health care professionals able to address the opioid epidemic, especially in areas with the highest need for SUD treatment providers.
