Rethinking Rural Health: Maternal and Infant Health RFI

Summary: On April 6, 2020, PAEA submitted a response to a Request for Information from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on policy interventions to improve maternal health outcomes in rural areas. In the letter, PAEA described high payment rates from PA programs for women’s health clinical rotations and successful state models through which financial incentives have increased clinical training site availability. PAEA urged the agency to examine the integration of clinical training opportunities in women’s health in future alternative payment models.
