HEA Reauthorization in the 116th Congress (House)

Summary: On March 22, 2019, PAEA submitted a letter to the House Education and Labor Committee to prompt consideration of PA education provisions in forthcoming HEA reauthorization efforts, such as:

Establishing terms that would allow PA students to enjoy the same Unsubsidized Stafford Loan borrowing limits as their peers in other health profession education programs
Sustaining the Grad PLUS loan option and Public Service Loan Forgiveness for PA students and graduates
Authorizing funding to advance PA program and faculty development at historically black colleges and universities, hispanic serving institutions, rural serving institutions, and institutions in areas of national need
Reducing state-level barriers that inhibit student access to clinical training experiences
