FY2019 Appropriations Recommendations (House)
Summary: On April 26, 2018, PAEA submitted testimony to the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies explaining how federal investment in Title VII health workforce programs that support PA education ultimately strengthens the national response to the opioid crisis.
Based on the supporting evidence presented, PAEA requested $690 million in FY2019 for Title VII health workforce and Title VIII nursing workforce programs and $12 million for primary care education and the ongoing advancement of PA programs under the Primary Care Training and Enhancement (PCTE) program. PAEA also thanked the subcommittee for its support of a mandate that 15 percent of PCTE program funds be used to supplement PA training.
