Addiction Treatment Access Improvement Act (House)

Summary: On January 26, 2018, PAEA submitted a letter to the offices of Representatives Ann Kuster, Tom MacArthur, Brian Fitzpatrick, and Donald Norcross thanking them for introducing the Addiction Treatment Access Improvement Act and highlighting how PA participation in waiver training to prescribe medication-assisted treatment (MAT) helps to expand treatment capacity to the level that is needed in the wake of the national opioid epidemic. Furthermore, PAEA offered full endorsement of the Act’s provision that upgrades the availability status of MAT training for PAs from temporary to permanent.
