Mission Statement
The mission of the University of Charleston Physician Assistant Program is to prepare competent physician assistants who value and provide comprehensive, patient-centered, culturally sensitive primary care, and are committed to lifelong-learning, professional growth, community health, and caring for underserved populations.
Unique Program Features
The program has a rural medicine focus, a commitment to community service, pass/fail grading, and a small student to faculty ratio with faculty who have a significant number of years of PA education and clinical experiences. Multiple learning modalities are used such as traditional lectures, case- and team-based learning, simulated patient encounters, and hands-on activities and labs.
