PRIMARY FUNCTION: The director provides leadership and vision for the department of physician assistant studies. The director will conduct annual faculty and staff evaluations; oversee department mission, philosophy, strategic planning, curriculum, budget and resources, policies/procedures; and maintain accreditation status. In addition to administrative responsibilities, this individual will assume traditional faculty roles including teaching and research while participating as an integral member of the College.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*1. Provide leadership for overall operations of the Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program.

*2. Plan and implement an annual departmental budget in order to maintain adequate personnel space, facilities, equipment and materials. Seek resources to support all new ventures approved through the planning process.

*3. Maintain accreditation for the Master of Physician Assistant Studies program, completing all reports requested by ARC-PA and supporting MPAS graduates' eligibility for licensure examinations.

*4. Conduct annual evaluations of MPAS faculty and staff; facilitate faculty and staff development plans.

*5. Annually assess, and revise, as needed, the department's mission, philosophy, strategic plan, policies/procedures and the MPAS program curriculum in collaboration with faculty and staff.

*6. Participate in extra-departmental and university affairs in a manner that contributes to the mission of the College.
