Shape the Future of a Distinguished Physician Assistant Program

Kettering College invites visionary, mission-driven leaders to explore an exceptional opportunity to serve as Chair of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. This leadership transition comes at an exciting moment in the continued growth of a nationally respected program with deep roots, outstanding outcomes, and significant momentum for the future.

In 2024, the program received Accreditation-Continued status for ten years from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), the maximum term available. The milestone also marked 50 years of continuous accreditation, reflecting longstanding excellence, stability, and sustained commitment to high-quality PA education.

The program continues to demonstrate exceptional outcomes, including:

  • Fully enrolled cohorts at the maximum approved class size of 60 students
  • A five-year average PANCE pass rate of 97%, consistently above national averages
  •  Strong student success outcomes, with attrition rates between 5% and 6.7% over the past five years
  • A collaborative and experienced team of 9.5 faculty FTEs and 3.5 professional support staff FTEs

Located in the Dayton region, Kettering College is a faith-based institution owned by Kettering Health and chartered by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Since 1967, the College has become a recognized leader in health sciences education, offering undergraduate and graduate programs through the doctoral level. Rooted in whole-person care, Kettering College prepares healthcare professionals who combine clinical excellence with compassion, integrity, and service.

The Chair of Physician Assistant Studies serves as both an academic leader and mentor, guiding curriculum innovation, faculty development, accreditation strategy, outcomes assessment, and long-term program vision within a supportive, mission-centered environment. Reporting directly to the Dean of Academic Affairs/Chief Academic Officer, the Chair also collaborates closely with leaders across Kettering Health and serves as an integral member of the College’s academic leadership structure.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A passion for PA education and student development
  • Demonstrated success in academic leadership and program administration
  • Experience in accreditation, curriculum development, and outcomes assessment
  • A collaborative leadership style grounded in mentorship, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Commitment to preparing future clinicians for a rapidly evolving healthcare environment

This opportunity is especially well-suited for a leader seeking to shape the future of an established, highly successful PA program while building upon a legacy of excellence in a collaborative, mission-driven academic community.

Qualified candidates must hold current NCCPA certification and be eligible for Ohio licensure. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and rank assignment.
