Job Description
This is a unique opportunity for a student-centered, mission-driven leader to shape the future of the Physician Associate Studies Program. Reporting to the Dean of the College of Arts and Science, the Program Director will serve as the strategic, leader of the program, advancing excellence in education, strengthening partnerships, and cultivating a high-performing, collaborative culture inspiring faculty, staff, and students.
The Physician Associate Studies Program at Miami University is a 27-month, master-level curriculum. The program has provisional accreditation status through the ARC-PA at this time, with a site visit scheduled for early 2027. The inaugural cohort of students began in May 2023, and the ongoing cohort size is 36 students. The program enjoys a state-of-the art, purpose-built facility which opened in 2023. It includes lecture spaces, a standardized examination space, a simulation center, a physical skills lab, a cadaver lab, and Anatomage tables. With strong institutional support and a state-of-the-art facility, the program is well-positioned for its next stage of evolution.
The ideal candidate is a connected and inspiring leader who brings a passion for developing others, building strong relationships, and has a demonstrated track record of advancing program quality and reputation. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the program meets all university requirements and the standards set by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
- General operations, budgeting, staffing, scheduling, curriculum, faculty and staff supervision, and student support.
- Overseeing the accreditation process with university support, and providing limited teaching.

Minimum qualifications:
The next Director will need to possess the following qualifications:
- NCCPA-certified Physician Assistant
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program;
- Licensure in Ohio or eligibility to obtain Ohio licensure;
- At least three years of full-time higher education experience in an accredited PA program;
- Experience in program coordination/management.
A relevant doctoral degree is preferred. Consideration may be given to applicants with demonstrated effectiveness in an administrative capacity and the ability to interact with a wide range of constituents, including faculty, students, and administration. The next Director will hold the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor, Associate Clinical Professor, or Clinical Professor. This is a 12-month faculty position.
