Roosevelt University, College of Science, Health and Pharmacy, Schaumburg, IL, is seeking applications for a part-time (FTE 0.15-0.20) Medical Director of the Physician Assistant [PA] Studies program to begin June 9th, 2026. Roosevelt has recently applied for provisional accreditation with the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. [ARC-PA] with a planned program start date in August 2028.
Reporting to the Program Director, the Medical Director serves as a key member of the principal faculty, providing expertise in clinical medicine to the program. The Medical Director will assist the Program Director in ensuring that the curriculum, clinical training, and student assessment methods meet all ARC-PA accreditation standards, specifically those relating to entry-level competence. The Medical Director will also provide advice and oversight regarding the medical accuracy of the curriculum and the quality of clinical experiences available to students and serve as an advocate for the program within the medical and academic communities.
Primary responsibilities include:
Accreditation and Program Quality
Support compliance with ARC-PA Standards through participation in program evaluation, Self-Study Report (SSR) review, and accreditation preparation activities.
Provide input into the development, review, and implementation of program policies and procedures.
Participate in continuous program assessment and quality improvement initiatives.
Clinical Education and Partnerships
Collaborate with program leadership to support the identification, development, and evaluation of clinical sites and partnerships.
Provide guidance on clinical site quality, preceptor qualifications, and alignment with program expectations and development of clinical policies.
Work in collaboration with the Program Director and clinical faculty to ensure the breadth and depth of clinical education experiences.
Program Collaboration and Leadership
Provide clinical guidance and collaborate with the Program Director and faculty through regular consultation, participation in program committees, and engagement in program planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
Currently or previously licensed PA or osteopathic or allopathic physician
Currently or previously board-certified
Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience
Preferred Qualifications
Five (5) years of clinical experience
Knowledgeable about the PA role and have experience with the PA scope of practice
