The position is a 12-month, non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in physician assistant education, a passion for mentoring and inspiring students, and the creativity and energy to engage with clinical partners in recruiting new preceptors. This position reports directly to the Program Director and offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in both academic and clinical settings.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Success
- Plans, develops, and manages all activities related to evaluating and enhancing student success across the didactic and clinical phases.
- Provides reports for all remediation activities and outcomes for student success.
- Analyze student performance data, identify trends, and implement targeted support strategies to improve student performance and increase retention.
- Collaborates with program leadership to inform curricular improvement through review of course level and standardized exam performance.
- Supports the implementation of data-driven interventions for student success.
- Develops customized academic improvement plans.
- Monitors student performance and academic progress
- Initiates contact with at-risk students to provide guidance to enhance learning and academic performance
- Integrates use of technology and other resources to support and enhance the learning environment of students
- Monitors and reports trends in physician assistant education with the goal of enhancing curriculum and student academic achievement.
- Monitor, evaluate, and advise on the remediation process and provide guidance when needed
Clinical Team
- Assist the clinical team in site visits and preceptor recruitment/retention.
- Monitor student performance in clinical rotations, on End of Rotation examinations, and develop and implement action plans for academic success.
- Assist the didactic team with the grading of OSCEs and other formative and summative exams as needed.
- Provides instruction when needed.
- Participates in the admissions process, including interviews and selection.
- Participates in the continuous self-study process and efforts involving the maintenance of the Programâs ARC-PA accreditation.
- Serves on departmental/programmatic committees as assigned.
- Participates in university functions as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Minimum of a masterâs degree from an accredited US physician assistant program or medical school.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current unencumbered state license or eligibility for professional licensure.
- Current NCCPA certification or equivalent health care certification.
- Teaching experience: A minimum of two years of teaching experience in a graduate health-related profession is highly preferred, with preference given to applicants who have taught in a physician assistant program or medical school.
- Healthcare experience: A minimum of two years of clinical experience is required.
