The Advent Health University Physician Assistant program is seeking a full-time faculty member, The Assistant/Associate/Professor is a valued and respected member of the University faculty who contributes as both an educator and mentor to students and colleagues. Appointment to this role reflects demonstrated teaching competence, a strong commitment to service, and clear potential for scholarly achievement.
In this position, the faculty memberâprepared at the masterâs levelâwill design, develop, and deliver instruction within Physician Assistant courses, while also engaging in student advising and mentorship. The role encompasses the core academic responsibilities of teaching, service, scholarship, and research. Additional expectations include reviewing and updating departmental policies and procedures as needed, recommending community partnerships that enhance student learning experiences, and consistently demonstrating exceptional customer service. The Assistant Professor is accountable for fostering respectful and collaborative relationships within the academic and professional community.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching & Curriculum
⢠Teach in the didactic and clinical phases of the Master of Science Physician Assistant Program - MSPAS curriculum.Â
⢠Develop and deliver instructional content, course objectives, and assessments that align with program outcomes, PANCE blueprint, and ARC-PA Standards.
⢠Contribute to curriculum design and delivery that prepares students for success on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (âPANCEâ) examination and in clinical practice.
⢠Promote inclusive teaching practices and contribute to an equitable learning environment.
⢠Participate in simulation, OSCEs, skills labs, and small group facilitation.
⢠Grade examinations and assignments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students
Student Advising & Mentorship
⢠Serve as a faculty advisor, offering academic guidance, remediation support, and professional mentorship.
⢠Support student development in professionalism, ethical practice, and whole-person care.
Program & Accreditation Support
⢠Contribute to ongoing program self-assessment, data collection, and compliance with Accreditation
Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) Standards. Â
⢠Participate in student recruitment, admissions, and selection processes.
⢠Support program partnerships with clinical sites and community health initiatives as needed.
⢠Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating program policies and procedures.
Scholarship & Faculty Development
⢠Continue to develop as a faculty member of the college through advanced studies, research, and
Participate in scholarship and service activities as indicated in university and department policies.
⢠writing and attend a PAEA or other workshop for faculty development.
⢠Pursue ongoing personal and professional growth to advance expertise in education and clinical practice.
Service & Collaboration
⢠Contribute to institutional, program, and community service activities.
⢠Collaborate with colleagues across the university and clinical partners to support interprofessional and whole-person education.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
⢠Three years of clinical experience. Â
⢠Master's Degree from a Physician Assistant Program or related higher education field.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
⢠Experience teaching at the graduate level.
⢠Experience with assessment or curricular development/design.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
⢠Must be eligible for Florida state licensure as a physician assistantÂ
