In this presentation, we will explore the importance of authentic personal statements in PA school admissions and how admissions committees rely on them to evaluate applicants. We will discuss generative AI platforms like ChatGPT and how they may be used by applicants to write personal statements. The presentation includes a live demo of writing a personal statement for PA school using ChatGPT, as well as a discussion of what PAEA and programs can do to address the potential use of this technology in the admissions process. Emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive approach, we will highlight the necessity of maintaining the integrity of the admission process. By acknowledging and addressing the challenges presented by generative AI, PA programs can preserve fairness and credibility in admissions decisions.
