CASPA Updates
CASPA has been upgraded to a new, mobile-first, modern applicant portal. This faster, smoother, and more reliable user experience provides students with full functionality wherever they access the application. For more information, please review our recorded overview of the new platform.
- WebAdMIT, Liaison Outcomes, and the CAS API remain unchanged.
The directory now includes new enhancements designed to help applicants research programs more easily, including:
- Updated admissions requirements, deadlines, and program details
- New questions that provide deeper insight into program expectations and offerings
- A refreshed interface and homepage with key information highlighted at a glance
- Improved filters to help applicants quickly narrow down programs
Help maintain an accurate and complete directory by reviewing your listing and submitting updates as necessary. Contact us at directory@PAEAonline.org for any needed changes.
- The application fee is $185 for the first program and $65 for each additional program.
- For applicants who are approved for a fee waiver, the deadline to submit their application is extended from 14 days to 21 days. For more information, please visit the CASPA Help Center.
- The COVID-19 Impact Essay has been removed.
- A new question titled “Situational Decision-Making Question” has been added
- Emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and wearable health devices are changing how clinicians deliver care. How should future PAs learn to use these tools thoughtfully while maintaining strong, human-centered relationships with patients, even in settings where access to technology may be limited?
During the electronic transcript entry process, applicants can indicate whether a course is lab-only or includes both lectures and labs.
- To prevent accidental responses, applicants who answer “Yes” to the CASPA Investigation Question will now be asked to select the application year in which they received the Final Report.
- The section titled “Communication with the Subject of the Investigation” has been updated to state that PAEA will terminate the investigation if the evidence is inconclusive.
If an applicant answers in the affirmative to the License and/or Academic Infraction question, references to criminal history were removed from the required explanation:
- If you answered “Yes” to the previous question, you must provide an explanation. Include 1) a brief description of the incident, 2) specific allegations made against you, 3) related dates, 4) details regarding the consequence imposed upon you and the name of the institution, state or locality that imposed it, and 5) a reflection on the incident and how the incident has impacted your life
As we strive to balance the prevalence of this technology with the integrity and fairness of the admissions process, applicants and evaluators must now attest to the following:
- While they may consult personal and professional resources, including artificial intelligence (AI) tools, for non-substantive changes, such as the correction of spelling and grammar, is acceptable, their final submission accurately represents their own writing, work and experiences.
- It is their responsibility to review and abide by the institutional policies regarding the use of artificial intelligence tools to any program to which they apply.
WebAdMIT Updates

Analytics Updates
2025-2026 CASPA Updates
Applicants respond to a Life Experiences essay question in the Personal Information quadrant of the CASPA application. As a result of our annual review, this question has been refined for clarity and consistency, enhancing the applicant’s experience while preserving its original intent. As highlighted in the CASPA Configuration Best Practices webinar, this question will remain a required part of the application.
Life Experiences (required)
Explain how your life experiences could help advance the goal of having healthcare providers who can empathize with the patient communities they serve.
This question provides an excellent opportunity for applicants to describe impactful life experiences, particularly challenges or hardships that may not be readily highlighted elsewhere in the application. Experiences can be drawn from any point in an applicant’s life and do not necessarily have to be directly related to the field of medicine or healthcare.
A new question has been added to identify applicants who have received a Final Report following a CASPA Investigation and Violation:
- Have you previously been issued a Final Report of CASPA Investigation by PAEA for a violation of the CASPA Applicant User Agreement and Release? (Yes/No)
Applicants who received a Final Report will have a note added to their Application in WebAdMIT, instructing the program to contact PAEA at CASPAInvestigations@PAEAonline.org for a copy of the report.
The following questions about legal sex, gender identity, and pronoun preference will remain in the CASPA application:
- What is your legal Sex? (required)
- What is your current Gender Identity? (optional)
- Please select the set of pronouns you want people to use to refer to you. (optional)
Applicants may choose to leave the optional questions blank. Our legal counsel has advised us that these questions are acceptable as long as they remain voluntary. We will continue to monitor these issues closely for any further updates.
As a reminder, WebAdMIT allows you to create Work Groups that restrict access to applicant data for designated User Groups. For example, you may limit a User Group’s access to Gender Identity information. These settings apply across various WebAdMIT features, including applicant panels, the PDF manager, and API configurations. For more information, please visit the WebAdMIT Help Center.
There has been an update to the URL domain for the CASPA application.
The current URL format caspa.liaisoncas.com has been updated to the following format: caspa.cas.myliaison.com.
We want to highlight that the old URL automatically redirects to the new URL, ensuring a smooth transition without any service disruption.
However, we ask that you begin using the new link whenever possible and ensure all CASPA-related URLs on your websites and documentation are updated to the new format by June 27, 2025.
This change is part of ongoing efforts to improve Liaison’s technology infrastructure. The benefits include:
- Enhanced system security (e.g., Multi-Factor Authentication, MFA)
- Future upgrades, such as Keycloak and social media login tools, will simplify account creation and introduce new single sign-on capabilities across Liaison platforms.
Please note that this update does not apply to CAS Public APIs, WebAdMIT URLs, Analytics, or the Common App for Transfer.
As we prepare for the 25th anniversary of our Centralized Application Service, PAEA and Liaison are pleased to announce the upcoming release of our new, mobile-first CASPA application.
Launching the 2026-27 Cycle, this change will provide applicants with the same functionality and experience whether they choose to access the application from a tablet, mobile device, or computer. The new platform also creates a new look and feel that improves the user experience by providing clearer navigation.
To learn more about the new CASPA interface, we have recorded an overview of the platform for you to review at your convenience and share with members of your admissions committee.
2025-2026 WebAdMIT Updates
Howard University
Howard University is transitioning its student information system, which may take up to a year. During this time, Howard University cannot provide official transcripts. Students who graduated in 2017 or after will receive a “Provisional” transcript and should submit it to CASPA. For students who graduated before 2017, the university cannot provide a provisional transcript; CASPA will accept unofficial transcripts.
Community College of the Air Force
Transcript processing delays stem from new student information system issues requiring manual staff intervention. As a result, non-priority requests may take up to 90 days. However, CCAF remains fully operational, providing various education programs and pathways. For information, please visit this page.
Moving Forward
During these transitions, CASPA will accept unofficial transcripts via the Document Exceptions email at documentexceptions@liaisonedu.com. The Verification team will use these documents to verify students. However, re-verification will not occur once official transcripts become available. Programs may request official transcripts once processing resumes.
While we understand and respect your admission policies, we hope you can offer added flexibility and consideration during this period.
Effective the 2025-26 CASPA Cycle, Withdrew has been elevated to a Final Decision Code. As a reminder, this set of Decision Codes is used to denote the final status of each applicant and must be assigned within 14 days of class matriculation.
• Withdrew: Applicant has withdrawn their application. Withdrawal may occur at any time during the cycle, with or without notification. This status also includes passive withdrawal due to an incomplete application.
Jump to Top Navigation for Applicant Details Page
The Applicant Details page, where all application data is listed, now has an arrow button that, when clicked, jumps you to the top of the page. This gives you quick navigation on a page that can become quite long to scroll through.
Updated Not Received Indicator for Transcripts and Letters of Recommendation
The Transcripts subpanel under the Documents panel on the Applicant Details page lists each college the applicant attended. Previously, (Pending) was listed for each college’s transcript, which led to the assumption that the applicant had requested a transcript and it was in transit to the CAS. However, a CAS or program may not have required a transcript, and so the (Pending) indicator was misleading. With this enhancement, (Pending) has been updated to (Not Received) for clarification and accuracy.
Similarly, the Evaluations panel on the Applicant Details page lists each recommender whom the applicant sends a recommendation request to, with a (Pending) indicator. However, the recommender may not have accepted the recommendation request, and so the (Pending) indicator was misleading as it led to the assumption that the recommender was in the process of submitting their recommendation. With this enhancement, (Pending) has also been updated to (Not Received) for clarification and accuracy.
For more information on the most recent enhancements, please visit the Release 5 — June 1, 2025 page.
This enhancement shortens the overall length of the panel and allows you to regulate by Work Groups, which users have access to specific types of applicant data (e.g., you can share a question block related to the release statement agreement but not share a question block related to an applicant’s gender identity). For more information, please visit the feature’s Release Notes.
The Competing Offers report is now available on the left rail. To learn more about this report, please visit the WebAdMIT Help Center.
Starting January 21, 2026, ETS’s TOEFL exam will have a new 1-6 scoring scale for each section and overall total score. To accommodate this, the following changes will be made:
- CAS Applicant Portal: applicants will be able to report their scores in both the old and new scoring scales in the Standardized Tests section. If available in your CAS, they can continue to send official TOEFL scores to their programs via the CAS TOEFL code.
- WebAdMIT: a new set of TOEFL-related fields for this new scoring scale will be available. You must add these fields to anywhere you may already pull in TOEFL fields (e.g., lists, exports, scoring, etc.).
Important: when you receive official TOEFL scores taken after January 21, 2026, ETS will provide the historical scale equivalent for only the overall total score (i.e., both a 6 (on the new scoring scale) and 120 (on the old scoring scale)). ETS is not providing the historical scale equivalent for any section scores (i.e., you will only get a 4 (on the new scoring scale) for the Reading section). Be sure to review all your templates to accommodate the new scoring scale and capture the data you need.
A new Search field is now available across key WebAdMIT tools: List Manager, Export Manager, Email Templates, and Scoring Models. This enhancement makes it easier than ever to quickly find the fields you need when building your templates.

In December 2025, users who haven’t logged in to WebAdMIT in the past 18 months will have their accounts deactivated. This enhances the security of WebAdMIT and ensures only current and active users can access applicants and admissions data. To learn more about this and review best practices, visit the Managing Users page.
2025-2026 Liaison Analytics Updates
We’ve launched four new dashboards that offer a comprehensive overview of applicant GPA and Fee Waiver data. These dashboards include built-in filters that allow you to segment and explore your applicant data across multiple cycles.
The GPA Distribution and GPA by Legal Sex reports use a combination of boxplots and histograms to display GPA information by year and subject.
The Fee Waiver Summary and Fee Waiver Demographics reports provide volume and demographic information on the number of applicants who requested a fee waiver and the outcome.
