Physician Assistant Studies Full-Time Principal Faculty/Instructor

The Knoxville campus of the South College Physician Assistant Studies program is seeking highly motivated, team-oriented individuals to join its experienced team of didactic faculty. Founded in 2007, the South College Knoxville Physician Assistant Program has earned distinction as the #1 PA program in Tennessee, #4 in the Southeast, and #23 in the nation for Best Physician Assistant Schools, according to CollegeFactual.com.

Salary as 1.0 FTE . Faculty have a 32-hour on-campus workweek. In addition, one clinical day per week is permitted outside of the on-campus hours.

General Responsibilities Include:

  • Supports recruitment and admissions; collaborates with faculty to design and deliver competency based, ARC-PAC aligned curriculum; and benchmarks student and course performance using national assessments.
  • Assists with accreditation, regulatory reporting, documentation, and continuous quality improvement through data analytics.
  • Serves on and potentially chairs program committees; mentors and evaluates students across didactic and clinical phases; supports budgeting and program planning; maintains licensure; adheres to college policies; and promotes student success through advising and feedback.
  • Supports ongoing sustainability and development of the program.
  • Provides continuous self-assessment and evaluation of the didactic phase.
  • Plans scholarship and service activities to assist the institution's compliance outcomes.
  • Provides instruction in all phases of the program.

Requirements

Education

  • Master's degree in a health science or related field required; doctorate preferred.
  • Academic standards consistent with Accreditation Standard A2.01a.
  • In exceptional cases, relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal academic credentials.

Experience

  • Preferred: Minimum of three years of full-time experience as a certified Physician Assistant.
  • Preferred experience in teaching, lecturing, and scholarly or technical writing within medical education or health sciences.
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills and advanced computer proficiency.

Licensure & Certification

  • If clinically licensed, must maintain an active, unrestricted state license and current NCCPA certification.
  • Documentation of licensure, certifications, and academic preparation is required; course descriptions or syllabi may be requested to verify credit hour requirements.
