POSITION: Clinical Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Physician Assistant Program
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time (32 hours per week with the PA Program, minimum of 8 hours per week for Clinical Practice or Research)
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: PA Program Director
JOB PURPOSE: Coordinates the Clinical Phase (Professional Year II) of the PA Program, provides instruction and analyzes students performance and overall program outcomes for the Clinical Phase.
1. Responsible for the coordination and supervision of the Clinical Phase of the PA Program.
2. Prepares syllabi and learning objectives for all courses in the Clinical Phase of the program.
3. Provides analysis of supervised clinical practice experiences for appropriateness of settings, patient encounters, clinical skills, diagnoses, and competencies.
4. Schedule required and elective supervised clinical experiences, coordinating the distribution of students for appropriateness of clinical experiences.
5. Responsible for workload equivalent of three courses per semester.
6. Prepares and/or reviews exams, collaborating with faculty in test construction and item analysis.
7. Monitors student progress, meets with students, and assures appropriate intervention, when required.
8. Analyzes clinical curriculum outcomes for review at committee meeting and by the Program Director.
9. Provides analysis of supervised clinical practice experiences for appropriateness of settings, patient encounters, clinical skills, diagnoses, and competencies.
10. Participates in student advising and clinical site visits as assigned.
11. Actively participating in the remediation process of students, when required.
12. Serves as advisor for a research group.
13. Attends and participates in PA committee meetings, program activities, and campus events.
14. Serves as a Chair of Committee, developing agenda, preparing minutes and outcome reports.
15. Contributes to ongoing self-study process and formal report to ARC-PA.
16. Serves as facility leader for experiential service learning events (Ex: Medical educational/Mission Trips).
17. Attends professional conferences, representing the PA Program and the College.
Special Considerations: 1 day a week dedicated to Clinical Practice or Research; Available weekends for Campus Events (e.g. Campus Visit Day); Available evenings for program events (e.g. Research Forums)

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 5 years clinical experience; Minimum 5 years teaching experience
Education Qualifications: Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA Program; Master Degree (MS, MPA, MPH)
Certifications: NCCPA Certification (AZ.06)
Licenses: New York State Licensed Physician Assistant
